“Crnorecje in Song and Play” Festival

The Rhythm of Tradition and Culture

Overview

When the trumpet plays, the heart begins to dance! The trumpet accompanies birth, baptisms, weddings, and celebrations of victory… As such, it is an inseparable part of Serbian tradition and the art of folk music performance.

The festival “Crnorecje in Song and Dance” serves as the qualifying competition for trumpet players from Eastern Serbia seeking placement at the Dragacevo Trumpet Festival in Guca. It is one of the most important tourist and cultural events in this region.

The festival takes place on the first weekend of June, offering visitors a traditional experience that includes distinctive local gastronomy and specialties, folk customs, and traditions brought together in a single event. As part of the festival, the exhibition of handicrafts and traditional dishes “Golden Hands of Crna Reka” is organized, together with presentations of old crafts and the sale of handmade products and souvenirs. During the remaining festival days, folklore ensembles from the Crna Reka region perform, while another part of the program includes the flute players’ competition of Eastern Serbia.
