Bozhuritsa, located not far from Vidin, is one of the most beautiful recreational areas in northwestern Bulgaria and a favourite place for escaping into nature. Known for its fields of wild peonies, after which it was named, the area is home to the region’s only forest of tall trees, well-maintained walking trails and a peaceful lake surrounded by greenery. During spring and summer, the landscape turns into a true natural postcard, ideal for walking, photography and relaxation.
Bozhuritsa is an excellent starting point for exploring the cultural and natural heritage of the Vidin region. Visitors can combine time in nature with a tour of Baba Vida Fortress, Rakovitsa Monastery or the Belogradchik Rocks, creating a unique experience in which history, tradition and unspoilt nature come together. For lovers of active holidays, fishing and wildlife observation, Bozhuritsa is a true discovery.
